We are a youth opportunity ecosystem connecting young people to the opportunities, skills, guidance, networks, and resources they need to pursue meaningful careers, sustainable livelihoods, and dignified and fulfilling futures.
THE PROBLEM WE EXIST TO SOLVE
The opportunity gap is real, but it is not inevitable
In 2025, more than 70 million young people across Africa were not in employment, education, or training. The challenge is not a lack of potential or ambition. Young people across Nigeria and the continent bring ambition, creativity, and capability to every environment they enter. What they often lack is structured access to skills development pathways that match what the economy actually demands, career guidance grounded in their specific context, networks that open doors, and platforms that recognize their contributions and connect them to income-generating opportunities. Evidence from the ILO and the Mastercard Foundation points to this access gap as one of the defining barriers to dignified work and economic participation for Africa’s youth. That is the gap YouthXcel Africa exists to address.

Our work is rooted in Nigeria and extends across the wider African continent, with a focus on young people, especially those from underserved communities where the distance between ambition and meaningful opportunity is widest. We believe closing this gap requires deliberate investment in skills, guidance, platforms that create economic pathways, and the systems that allow young people to live with dignity and purpose.

How we work
Expand Access
We connect young people to opportunities they would not otherwise find, including skills development programs, employment pathways, leadership platforms, and economic opportunities, and give them the tools to pursue those opportunities effectively.
Build Readiness
Access without preparation is incomplete. We invest in the skills, employability, career clarity, and confidence that help young people go from knowing an opportunity exists to successfully pursuing it.
Build The Ecosystem
We work with partners, institutions, and communities to create an environment where more young people can access what they need, more consistently.

Registered and Accountable
YouthXcel Africa is incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (registered as Youth Excel Initiative). We are governed by a Board of Trustees, and we are independently audited anually.
